Cocoon of comfort binds us
To our miseries
Entombing the butterflies
Killing our spirits
Alas! Behold the sky
We can’t fly
Let loose, break the shackles
Keeping us tied to the ground
Destined to soar
Destined to fly
We can’t be imprisoned
Crush this dungeon
That fear has built
All those who preaches freedom
Will like to keep us chained
To do their bidding and
Enhance their gains
Look around
What we have got to lose
One day all of us
Have to go
Till then
Hold our heads high
Stretch our arms, unite
Look up
Soar to the sky
The first stanza was written today as my comment to our fellow blogger, Kimberly Pitzrick’s poem “destroying innocence“. I did not change any words to that comment but added two more stanzas. I had previously written a post about “Getting Out Of Our Comfort Zones”
Cocoon of comfort binds us
To our miseries
That says it all… got to push beyond the comfort zone! Great reminder, beautiful poem. Best, JJ42

I agree, we can’t turn blindly away, we must get out of our comfort zones and make a difference together. Great post 🙂
