Fear The Night

I fear the night
Eyes shut, loneliness
Fighting inner demons
Shadows of memories past
Projecting onerous future
Onto the dimly lighted walls
Lighted by macabre eerie lights
From the ghostly screen of
A charging cell phone
Hellish flickering blue LED light
Of my computer screen
Warning of a cosmic connection
Fatal attraction to
Foreboding future yet to come
Silence of the night broken by
Unearthly howling of visceral beasts
Baring their fangs
Ready to pounce at the slightest hint
Ungodly silent screams hounding my ears
Alone, eyes shut
I fight the ghosts and ghouls
Ripping me apart
All the tossing and turning
Agony and ecstasy of tormented mind
Sleep a distant dream
Eyes shut but still can see
I fear the night

Poetry is my passion. I am not a methodical writer. I have no set topics to write about. What I feel, perceive, think about, I will like to share in this blog. I open my mind to the world. Like the weather, sometimes my poems are cloudy, sometimes stormy. I always like to see sunshine streaming through the leaves of trees, so I hope I can share some of those sunshine with my readers.

  1. “Agony and ecstasy of a tormented mind.” Such is the nature of the mind struggling for sleep. Invading thoughts that won’t leave us in peace. Well-written! 🙂
