Promise of a New Dawn

When the time comes to leave
I hope I am sitting on a lonely beach
Golden rays of the setting sun
Gently caressing my weathered face
Waves gently lapping at my feet
As the sun slowly sets on the horizon
Eyes ready to close
Focussed on the glorious view
Soul ready to leave
The tired old body
And ride the rays
Of the setting sun
Journey beginning
For a new awakening
Tide slowly rising and
Gently carries the lifeless body
Inky dark bottomless darkness
Holds no fear anymore
A journey that began
Swimming against all odds
Watery beginning
To a watery grave
As the sun dips below the horizon
One last time hope to
See that golden beam
Setting sun that holds
Promise of a new dawn

Poetry is my passion. I am not a methodical writer. I have no set topics to write about. What I feel, perceive, think about, I will like to share in this blog. I open my mind to the world. Like the weather, sometimes my poems are cloudy, sometimes stormy. I always like to see sunshine streaming through the leaves of trees, so I hope I can share some of those sunshine with my readers.
