If I can have

I am given a choice by the genie
To ask for my three boons
Anything I want
Anything I desire
Will be granted
But only three
And not one more

I scratched my head
I could ask to be
The richest man of all
But I do not want to be
King Midas at all
What happens if I have
An incurable disease
And no time left to
Enjoy my riches
I could ask to be immortal
But what will be the fun
When all my friends are
Dead and gone
And I roam the world
All alone
I could ask for
Everybody to be immortal
Oh dear!
Will we have a place
To stand even
These choices are hard
I do not need
All three boons
One will be enough
If I can have
Peace for all
In this world
Forever and beyond
Genie burst out laughing
Don’t ask for the impossible
Three or none
Your chance is gone
Departed with a loud bang
Woke up from my sleep
Will peace for all
Really remain a dream

Poetry is my passion. I am not a methodical writer. I have no set topics to write about. What I feel, perceive, think about, I will like to share in this blog. I open my mind to the world. Like the weather, sometimes my poems are cloudy, sometimes stormy. I always like to see sunshine streaming through the leaves of trees, so I hope I can share some of those sunshine with my readers.
