These Games We Play

These games we play
Hide and seek
We say we
Seek the truth
But we hide from it

Afraid to face
Lest we get hurt
We play the victim
Of persecution
Under the disguise
Of patriotism
Of religion
Of pseudo nationalism
We bend the truth
To suit our version
Blurring the line
Between truth and lies
We protect our kind
Justifying our lies
Sanctifying our actions
Being protected
By divine guidance
We point our fingers
At others
Our closets
Overflowing skeletons
Lies that we
Like to carry to
Our graves
When the stench
Becomes unbearable
We play the
Innocent victim game
Blaming the
Real victims
Character assassination
And vilification
Games we play
To perfection
Many call us
But we know
We are no
Different than
Society we live in
Where the thin
Line of morality
Changes shape constantly
Red line on
The sand
Keeps moving
We play the
Game of
Hide and seek
To perfection

Poetry is my passion. I am not a methodical writer. I have no set topics to write about. What I feel, perceive, think about, I will like to share in this blog. I open my mind to the world. Like the weather, sometimes my poems are cloudy, sometimes stormy. I always like to see sunshine streaming through the leaves of trees, so I hope I can share some of those sunshine with my readers.
