Woods

Woods, majestic in their glory
Our many needs met
Only if we preserve and replenish these
Darlings of nature
Surely one day
Will enjoy the bounty of it all
Oh! if we do not take care
Of these majestic woods
Destruction of which
Soon be the death of ours
Wonderful are they
Offering shelters to many
On hot and rainy days
Delighting big and small, and bringing
Smiles to hearts of one and all

Week 26 of My Fifty Two Weeks Journey with “W”

Write anything Wednesday July-27-2016

Author: pranabaxom

Poetry is my passion. I am not a methodical writer. I have no set topics to write about. What I feel, perceive, think about, I will like to share in this blog. I open my mind to the world. Like the weather, sometimes my poems are cloudy, sometimes stormy. I always like to see sunshine streaming through the leaves of trees, so I hope I can share some of those sunshine with my readers.

  1. As always I admire your ability to write like this. I could never do it. Do you find it easier to have set letters for the first words of every line or does it make it harder? For me it would be more difficult. I can’t do those writing prompts that say to use three specific words. My rebellious nature/muse says nope haha.

    1. To be frank, I never thought about it. Due to my work schedule, now a days I do not have much time to write. I am free to do anything personal late at night and by that time I am too tired. However I try my best to post my response to Write Anything Wednesday, specially my commitment to write a poem starting with the letter “W” for 52 weeks before midnight of Wednesday (lest my fairy godmother takes away the gift of writing from me 😄😄). Yesterday, from my shower through the open window, I saw the redwood trees in my neighbors’ house few houses away from me and I felt good. Then I went to office and forgot all about it. As I was sitting down at night to write, I remembered the redwoods from the morning. From that point it was easy.
Few weeks back, I wrote a poem with the titles of the first twenty five posts on my reader that morning. I rearranged the titles(orders) in the poem but I was so lazy that I did not give a title to the poem and just called it Title25. Here is the link: http://wp.me/p73yZZ-1Uu
