Against All Odds

Swimming against the tide
Propelled by torrential deluge
Millions perished but I survived
Darkest tunnel I traversed
Most hostile environment
Undeterred, focussed
I broke the barrier
And planted my roots
Against all odds
I survived
And grew
Parasite, may be
But nurtured
Only to be rejected
As a foreign object
And pushed out
From comfort of
My shelter
To a harsh
World outside
I, the fearless swimmer
I, who survived
And thrived
Against all odds
Suddenly helpless
Picked up with love
And taught ways
To navigate
An unknown world
Love showered
Taught fear
Love crippled me
And since inception
Seeking the one
Who started the journey
And thrived
Against all odds

Poetry is my passion. I am not a methodical writer. I have no set topics to write about. What I feel, perceive, think about, I will like to share in this blog. I open my mind to the world. Like the weather, sometimes my poems are cloudy, sometimes stormy. I always like to see sunshine streaming through the leaves of trees, so I hope I can share some of those sunshine with my readers.
