Woven into the quilt of our consciousness
Onerous burdens of cultures past
Values hammered and ingrained
Essence of who we really are, lost
Negated by garbage of history

Weaving stories of gods and goddesses
Of gospels passed on as absolute truths
Virtues extolled of mythical heroes
Embellishing divine follies and mischief
Not for mere mortals to divine

Weave we shall a modern tale
Onward in our journey of harmony and peace
Virtues untarnished by divisive forces
Encompassing everyone and love for all
Now is our time to walk proud and tall

Write anything Wednesday Nov-2-2016

Poetry is my passion. I am not a methodical writer. I have no set topics to write about. What I feel, perceive, think about, I will like to share in this blog. I open my mind to the world. Like the weather, sometimes my poems are cloudy, sometimes stormy. I always like to see sunshine streaming through the leaves of trees, so I hope I can share some of those sunshine with my readers.

    1. I do not know too. If you find out, please let me know.😊😊
To tell you the truth, before you pointed out I did not know what an acrostic was. I had to google the term.
Literature was never my forte. I just write because writing comforts me. I forget about everything when I start writing. My grammar and spelling must be terrible because I do not revise. When I write, I am afraid to stop because I may not be able to say what’s in my mind.

      1. You have an eloquent voice that makes a lot of sense in today’s world. Your grammar and spelling are fine, I have no trouble understanding what you are trying to convey. I am a chronic reviser. I do not find that it limits me, but helps me to say what I want to say in better, more exact words. If you can do that from the get-go, I envy you. 🙂
