Weary

Weary  we all after a long, nasty campaign
Election is over but peace has not returned
Apprehension grips the minds of many
Reluctantly though they will have to face the fact
Yearning for what could have been is worthless

Weary to the bones those who lost hope
End of a beautiful dream long nurtured
And who knows when the stars align next
Right when becomes wrong it’s a danger sign
Yet it’s not the time to abandon hope

Weary but will rejuvenate and reconvene
Ending inequality and injustice is a pledge
Answer to our quests will come
Rights that were earned won’t be trampled
Yes we can,  yes we will fight to reverse the wrong

Poetry is my passion. I am not a methodical writer. I have no set topics to write about. What I feel, perceive, think about, I will like to share in this blog. I open my mind to the world. Like the weather, sometimes my poems are cloudy, sometimes stormy. I always like to see sunshine streaming through the leaves of trees, so I hope I can share some of those sunshine with my readers.

  1. Weary is the truth. I’d feel more hopeful if the fight was fair, but it isn’t and probably never will be. Why do we need SuperDelegates and the Electoral College? Just do away with both. One man, one vote. Let the people decide. 🙂
