Buck does not stop at the top anymore

The buck does not stop at the top anymore
Blame game trickles down from the tower
Every morning sermon spews more venoms
Sins of the messenger
Is not cleaned by the morning shower
Supporters of the anointed one
May shout as much as they like
Who can absolve Hitler
From the guilts of Holocaust
Those who are remaining silent now
Will be as guilty when the country burns
Those who shout at others not like them
“Go back to your country”
And those who just pay lip service
That that’s what they are not
Will they ask the grandson and son
Of immigrants
(what a purebred he is)
Or will they ask his former wife
Or the current one
To go back to their countries
Oh! I forgot,
White blood flows through
Their hallowed veins
Color of their skins are not brown or black
Hypocrisy, thy name is synonymous
With the famous duck
While the country looks for a healing touch
You hide behind your morning tweets
As Nero fiddled while Rome burnt
The anointed one shoots some balls
Under the beautiful Florida sky
Throwing red meat to his core supporters
As the sycophants rally to cover his hide
Those whose hearts cry for unborn ones
Are as guilty by association with the hate crimes
For those concerned,
look within yourselves
It’s not the time to remain silent
It’s time to rally for the right cause
Because the buck does not stop at the top anymore

Poetry is my passion. I am not a methodical writer. I have no set topics to write about. What I feel, perceive, think about, I will like to share in this blog. I open my mind to the world. Like the weather, sometimes my poems are cloudy, sometimes stormy. I always like to see sunshine streaming through the leaves of trees, so I hope I can share some of those sunshine with my readers.

  1. I am as distressed by the daily news as you, PB. Just when I think it cannot get any more ridiculous, the man at the top tops himself. Big lies grow ever more gigantic. The web of criminal ties is pushed unceremoniously into the shadows. More and more innocent people are robbed, hurt, turned away. If we refuse to see the writing on the wall, we will all face a bloody revolution when the shit hits the fan. 🙂

    1. Recent spurts of vandalism of Jewish cemeteries and three shooting of Indian in Kansas, South Carolina and Washington resulting in two deaths and three injuries ( along with shouting of Go back to your countries in Kansas and Washington shooting incidents) are not good omens. If the man-in-charge(??) does not come out strongly against these incidents, he would be giving his tacit support and encouragement to his supporters to engage in more. Silent majority can remain silent at their own peril till they come for them.

      1. It seems to me that anyone still standing with Trump is unlikely to be swayed at this point. I’ve been de-friended, told to shut up, called a traitor, told I don’t know what I’m talking about. I don’t doubt myself or my convictions, but there doesn’t seem to be any middle ground or room for compromise. Haters gonna hate and in the end, it’s going to get ugly.
