Wisdom Lost

Trying a funny take on losing my wisdom teeth today.  I have a deadline, before the anesthesia wears off and pain sets in.

Today I lost my wisdom
Out of the four
One is gone
Other three are feeling
A little forlorn
When the doctor came in
I thought I was seeing
A real life case of
Benjamin Button
Soon the good old doctor came in
And shook my hands
In the presence of his son
The good young doctor
Who was the surgeon
Just to prove that
Anesthesia is not causing me
Any hallucination
The numbness was setting in
In a few minutes
My long coveted wisdom
Into the trash it was thrown
Now I have an open cavity
In my jaw bone
Can’t talk much for next few hours
Maybe this is an opportunity to
Write some more
Nothing comes to mind
Numbness wearing out slowly
Before it starts hurting
Maybe it’s worth writing
About my lost wisdom

And if the words come out crumpled
And the meaning comes out jumbled
I can always hide behind the excuse
Losing my wisdom, I am a little ruffled

Poetry is my passion. I am not a methodical writer. I have no set topics to write about. What I feel, perceive, think about, I will like to share in this blog. I open my mind to the world. Like the weather, sometimes my poems are cloudy, sometimes stormy. I always like to see sunshine streaming through the leaves of trees, so I hope I can share some of those sunshine with my readers.
