Flotsam

Neither a property acquired,
Nor a gift accepted,
Flotsam drifting aimlessly,
Destiny brought together.
Flourished and nourished
By river of life,
Closeness brought with it
Gulf of separation.
Deadwoods rubbed
Sparks fire of annihilation.
Where logic fails to emotion,
Dreaming of peace is
Living in fool’s paradise.
Slow burning pain perpetual,
Hell on earth worse than
Mythical inferno down below.
Peace a constant victim
In continuous search for peace.
Words of silence
Tortured and misconstrued.
Drifting apart,
Solution?
To slow rot and
Eventual dissolution?

Poetry is my passion. I am not a methodical writer. I have no set topics to write about. What I feel, perceive, think about, I will like to share in this blog. I open my mind to the world. Like the weather, sometimes my poems are cloudy, sometimes stormy. I always like to see sunshine streaming through the leaves of trees, so I hope I can share some of those sunshine with my readers.

  1. “Flotsam drifting aimlessly / Destiny brought together / Flourished and nourished / By river of life.” Great lines, PB. Life is mostly serendipity and this is a great explanation of how the right things end up at the right place at the right time. Loved it! 🙂
