Fog rising quietly from River Luit on the morning of December 25, 2017
It was Christmas Day morning at the largest inhabited river island in the world, Majuli. Majuli is home to the Vaishnavite monasteries ( Satras – 32 of them). Walking by the banks of River Luit, I was greeted with a thick blanket of fog silently rising from the river. It was a scene to behold on the cold winter’s morning. The silence was as thick as the fog. I stood mesmerized by the river bank as the fog slowly dispersed with the rising sun.
The cold, quiet morning, the freshness, and the silently flowing river, it was just enchanting.

I just love how still the water is; such serenity!
