Demon of Negativity

Demon of negativity
Deep beneath the surface
Corrode the soul
Slowly eating away
Weakening the resolve
To face the world
Come what may
When the glitter is over
And the lights are dimmed
In the darkness
As we peel each layer
And look into
The bare naked soul
Bottomless abyss
Glares back with
Meaningless emptiness
Ridiculing and smirking
At the notion of
Having it all and
Still failing to find
What’s being sought
Panicking, to end this existence
Take solace in the comfort of
Giving up the fight
Take a brave
But selfish decision
To end it all
Extinguish the source
A life ended
Loved ones left behind
To wonder where
They missed the sign
Blinded by their own fights
To keep their demons of negativity
In check
And project a semblance of sanity
Those fleeting signals drowned
Collapsed bridge of communication
The detours, lost traffic signs
Dark nights
Dancing demons of negativity
Harbinger of depression
Took over
And became the guiding lights

Poetry is my passion. I am not a methodical writer. I have no set topics to write about. What I feel, perceive, think about, I will like to share in this blog. I open my mind to the world. Like the weather, sometimes my poems are cloudy, sometimes stormy. I always like to see sunshine streaming through the leaves of trees, so I hope I can share some of those sunshine with my readers.

    1. I think all humans are somewhat by polar with the sub conscious mind being the storage of all things experienced and perceived. When the conscious mind fails to control the subconscious, result may be unexpected.
