I wrote a Hindi poem couple of days back and shared with my friends, many of them whose mother tongue is Hindi. As none of them came after me with an ax, I dared to translate it to English and post today. I am also attaching the original Hindi poem here. I am sure some of my readers, whose mother tongue is Hindi, may find fault with my Hindi. My apologies.
Scattered Snippets
O’ love, cruel oppressor mine,
Ask me not
Where leads my path.
Home, I left for you
Heaven or hell
Does not matter now,
Whole universe is yours.
Did not ask Almighty
Whose fault was it.
Deaf he is not,
That failed to hear
Your wailing day and night,
Mistake you did
By choosing me.
Heart full with passion,
Yesterday was and today too.
Sacrificed my life
At the altar of your love,
Bankrupted, nothing left to repay.
कुछ बिखरे हुए टुकड़े
सारे ज़ंहा तेरा है ।
ख़ुदाने यह कभी सुना नहीं ?
This was well written with a strong message.

Beautiful writing. I’m glad no-one came at you with an axe. 🙂

Wish I could read Hindi to comment on the original too, but the translation has a wonderful, strong message to it!

I like that you have included the two languages. I cannot read Hindi, but the letters are very nice. It is very difficult to translate the exact words of a poem, so I guess you have tried your best.
