You Have not Loved

You have not loved
If pains of separation
Did not ache you heart.
Waiting for a smile, and
Slightest hint
Did not turn your days
Into endless nights,
You have not loved.

You have not loved if
Raging fires of jealousy
Did not burn a hole
In your heart,
Rejection did not
Send you
To a bottomless pit
Of depression
Where no light shined,
If you have not experienced
Desperation of loneliness,
The empty feeling of
The world coming to an end,
You have not loved.
And from the pain,
The heart ache,
The raging fire,
Endless darkness,
You rise
Like the Phoenix
And learn to
Let go
Of your love
With a smile,
You have loved.

Poetry is my passion. I am not a methodical writer. I have no set topics to write about. What I feel, perceive, think about, I will like to share in this blog. I open my mind to the world. Like the weather, sometimes my poems are cloudy, sometimes stormy. I always like to see sunshine streaming through the leaves of trees, so I hope I can share some of those sunshine with my readers.

  1. Wow, this is so beautifully poignant, Pranab! I love the two parts of the poem; first about the deep pains and emotions of a shattered love and then the image of the Phoenix rising. Loved it!
