I wrote a poem in Hindi a few days back that I had shared with my friends in social media. The poem is about friendship. Translated the poem to English today. Both versions are here, English followed by Hindi.

Very beautiful and eloquent, Pranab! I like the Hindi version even though I do not know this language. The first four lines of this poem are very powerful because they completely define the essence of friendship. It is not just about smiles and good times, but also being able to be there, to listen when the other person is in pain. And I agree that it requires courage, but also time that has been robbed of us because of our precarious work situation due to the Capitalist system. I think you may want to read a post by Mario Savioni, a friend of mine, who deserves much more attention than my humble writing. He deals with the aforementioned topics. Also, I have written an extensive comment on this: https://savioni.wordpress.com/2019/01/08/pickles-and-tarts/
