All I want for Mother’s Day is a pregnant guppy
No kitty, no hippo, no cockatoo, nor puppy
No perfect yellow rose, nor reconstructed nose,
No silver spoon from which to sup,
No gold-etched china saucer and cup,
No trinkets nor blankets, not even books
No cell phone, new chair, nor shelves with coat hooks,
No flowers in a stunning vase
Nothing made of satin, denim, nor lace
No lotions, no oils – nothing used in tubs.
No pictures nor pitchers, not even back rubs.
All I want is a pregnant guppy —
I pray she’ll not be mean and vicious
Who finds her children quite delicious!

Why, Pranab, how nice of you to share this. Makes me almost want to let you win a round. I notice all your comments on my blog give you the last word. Today you even took the occasion for three “last words.” How do I reply when there is no room to reply? But regarding your right to criticize our Pres., yes it is certainly your right. If I did not think you were wanting the repartee, I wouldn’t be jabbing. 😀 Will we have to quit and only be nice to each other? Ah, I would miss that!

“Pregnant Guppy” did bring a smile to my face, specially the last line.
“nice to each other” – no way Jose ( or would it be no way senorita?). But as I said, theme for this month’s poems for me is “Love” , so I am trying to be moderate😊. May be trying to hard, my BP is rising.
