What is Love

Do you love me?
And I say yes,

What do I mean?
What is love?

Is love the longing I feel
When you are away from me
Or is it the anxiety I feel
When I do not hear from you

Is it the ache in my heart
To see you unhappy
And not speaking to me
Is it the racing heartbeat
Waiting for you to emerge
From  the arrival gate, or
The anxious anticipation of
Meeting you on my return home

Is it what I felt years back
When we first met
Unsure but willing to commit
Is it the fire that used to
Run through me at your sight
But then what about now
When all I want is
A few quiet moment
Just you and me
Alone
Side by side, at peace

I am not sure what it is
All of the above
And a lot more perhaps
I still have butterflies
Just thinking about you

And though I would like
Nothing better than
To hold you in my arms
And just relax
I love more to see you soar free
And reach for the sky, and
Achieve what you want

I will be waiting
With open arms
Always for you
Cause I know
One place
You will always be
In my heart
If that is love
So be it

Never shall I ask
Do you love me
Have my answer already

This completes my poem a day for the month of April 2019 written with the theme of “Love”.

Author: pranabaxom

Poetry is my passion. I am not a methodical writer. I have no set topics to write about. What I feel, perceive, think about, I will like to share in this blog. I open my mind to the world. Like the weather, sometimes my poems are cloudy, sometimes stormy. I always like to see sunshine streaming through the leaves of trees, so I hope I can share some of those sunshine with my readers.

  1. She is the luckiest human being on earth to have a love like that.

Wish I could find a love like that while I fly. Wish I had someone waiting for me when I finally do succeed.

She must love you very much and you her. I always love stories like that.

I have yet to find a man who loves me for me and will wait.

Do you send her these letters? I’m sure she would love to get them if not.

      1. That’s beautiful. An arranged marriage. I can’t imagine what that must have been like in the beginning, but I admire you both for sticking with it. True love right there.

  2. You have mastered the “love” genre. Your growth by way of an arranged marriage has contributed to that I’m sure as well as your great wordsmith abilities. The “butterflies in my stomach at first sight” is so seldom what love is. It has been a great reading.

      1. Still got company plus two large family duties. Granny scarcely can grunt. Thanks for a recess. I’ll get back to politics soon enough – how can I not with all the fodder out there. Not only have I come to having little time for blogging, my political news is limited. When I come at you, I’ll come armed! I don’t talk empty wind and I don’t see through blinded eyes. 😀 😀 Can’t a taunt occasionally, however.

      2. Reference your 9:11 comment. Isn’t it nice to have enough money to pay for your own golf, just like Pres. Trump. You won’t have when we live under socialism. Don’t respond. I’m sleepy. Got work to do. Need to read O’Reilly before bed time. I feel a fight coming on. 😀

  3. And who might have been paying for his golf for the last eight years is it? Or just how many years do you want? Where has the IRS been? I figure he has been audited and they are the ones who need to know? At least he has probably been audited since he became a Republican. Maybe he got by with shenanigans while he was a Democrat. Lois Lerner was much too busy with targeting conservatives for some time. Conservatives? Well maybe she did target him. I am fed up to the gills with the gossip mongering. Don’t you feel like you only get news fit to be placed on the rack by the check out desk? Back to who pays for his golf as President. I suppose the method that has been used by previous Presidents. I never gave it a thought under Obama, did you? Never once saw it in the headlines.

    1. DT is the one that Obama spends more time playing golf than work. Now in one year DT has surpassed all previous president’s record. Mar-a-Lago is doing good business at tax payers’ expense😁.
It is natural for people to get angry when bitter truth hits home😂.

  4. Wow. so….what I’d love to hear from my soul mate…..to tell me he’s waiting for me….well, he does, but not with words. So lovely. Thanks for sharing.
