A world gone mad

Heart is heavy

Fingers stiff

Words left me

Numb with pain

As pundits debate

It people who kills

Not soul less guns

For scores it is

Irrelevant now

They will not hear

Nor see

As their blood

Is cleaned

Their blood wiil

Not stain the hands of those

Nor their souls

As they immerse on

Sending their heartfelt sympathy

To those whose hearts will not heal

Deep are the holes

Left by the absence of their

Loved ones

As instigators

Discuss animately about the skill of

Putting the eighteenth hole

Some one somewhere may be plotting

Mayhem, to riddle the chest

Of innocents

With bullet holes

And the saints will march in

Singing the virtues of

The second ammendmant

And defend the sacrosanct rights

Of those who pick up the guns

After all, it’s people who kill

Not the guns

Rest in peace dear departed

May be what comes next

Is better than

This world gone mad

Poetry is my passion. I am not a methodical writer. I have no set topics to write about. What I feel, perceive, think about, I will like to share in this blog. I open my mind to the world. Like the weather, sometimes my poems are cloudy, sometimes stormy. I always like to see sunshine streaming through the leaves of trees, so I hope I can share some of those sunshine with my readers.

  1. You said to a commentator nothing will change, apart from very well written I will have to disagree with the comment, change only if you do something. No wonder you are waiting for the sunset taking so much time to set…… 😉

  2. So many usually reasonable and compassionate human beings pussyfoot around the problem (that seems so easy to solve to the rest of the world) with their, well, it’s not so easy, stricter laws won’t work, we tried that, violent video games, people don’t pray anymore, mental health issues…. Why is it so hard to follow the logic— if people kill not guns, take the guns away from the people?

  3. The greatest country in the world and its citizens need to be armed with assault rifles to defend themselves from their neighbours. I’ll stick with my small poverty-stricken forward-looking safe country where nobody needs a gun.
