Just saying Thank You

Can find reasons galore

To brood and not be thankful

On a grey cold morning

Freezing rains dripping

But as I look up

And see the sun

Struggling to lift the veil

Of dark rain clouds

Hope made its presence felt

And myriad reasons rushed in

To be thankful

Just chose only one

That am alive and

Able to reach out

To unseen friends

Across the seven seas

And just say Thank You

For being there for me

Will keep the other reasons handy

Because many more grey

Rainy days there will be

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving day in USA. Wishing all my friends a happy Thanksgiving.

Poetry is my passion. I am not a methodical writer. I have no set topics to write about. What I feel, perceive, think about, I will like to share in this blog. I open my mind to the world. Like the weather, sometimes my poems are cloudy, sometimes stormy. I always like to see sunshine streaming through the leaves of trees, so I hope I can share some of those sunshine with my readers.

      1. You have me topped by three. But I am not hosting this event. Will be at my house but daughter-in-law and granddaughter are responsible. I’ve been assigned mashed potatoes, my one excellence! My problem is the house. Cleaning and doing major putting things out of sight or donated or whatever it take to rearrange furniture to manage table space for them. All’s good.

      2. We, along with another friend of ours, been doing Thanksgiving dinner alternately for last twenty five years. We always do the turkey. This year was our friend’s turn but husband went to India and wife went to be with her daughter who could not come. So we hosted to keep the tradition going as long as we can. I hear you about it cleaning the house. That’s a pain in the rear.
