Thy name is compromise

When a whole life was spent

Clipping the wings of heart’s desire

And mind locked in a vault

Guarded by the lost key

Of pursuit of happiness

A search futile

Ignorant of what’s being searched for

The little morsels spread to entice

Does not make the heart flutter

For a promise of bliss

Embraced a fleeting moment of peace

Price that I pay

In perpetual silence

Misery, thy name is compromise

Poetry is my passion. I am not a methodical writer. I have no set topics to write about. What I feel, perceive, think about, I will like to share in this blog. I open my mind to the world. Like the weather, sometimes my poems are cloudy, sometimes stormy. I always like to see sunshine streaming through the leaves of trees, so I hope I can share some of those sunshine with my readers.

    1. We are taught value of compromise from our early childhood but not taught about the price we might pay. I am still searching for the balance between compromise and acceptance, the freedom of free will and the drudgery of submission.
