For a moment

three line tales week 136: camping

This post is for Sonya’s Three Line Tales, Week 136

For a moment nothing else mattered, alone, the world stood still,
Gentle breeze caressed her face, soothing, setting sun lighted up the hill,
Come what may she will face the world, becalmed, she swore to climb uphill.

Bai is there : Three Line Tales, Week 94

Life did not treat her fair, working day and night as a maid and a family to take care
Even if she was sick, she had to work to earn her wages so that her children could eat
Water tap running dry, no issues, to carry water from the well Bai* is there

* Bai (or didi etc.) – a generic name by which maids are called in many Indian households

Day of Reckoning : Three Line Tales, Week 92

Sparkling lights, burning bright, lighting up the sky, hopes are high

Million strong, hoping to right the wrong, shouting we belong

Darkness underneath all encompassing, it’s still too far for the day of reckoning

Tears beneath the Glare:Three Line Tales, Week 79

photo by Arnaud Mesureur via Unsplash

Glare of the bright lights and hoorahs mask the pain and tears behind masochistic mask
Modern day gladiators march on to their untimely demise for the pot of gold
While emperors play the fiddle paying lip services to cavernous greed of the proletariat
