Back From My India Trip

I came back from a month long trip to India on New Year’s eve afternoon.  I had a fourteen hour layover in Seoul, South Korea.  Not sure if I picked up some bug at Seoul or during the flight back to San Francisco, by night time of December 31st, I was sick to my bones.  As my family was still back in India, I tried to take care of the sickness as best as I could.  However things went from bad to worse and by the time my family came back from India I was a mess.  To make a long story short, 2018 started for me with sneezing, sniffling, runny nose, body ache, fever and topped off with a lingering cough that did not show any sign of going away.  Ultimately after ten days I went to the doctor today to ensure that I did not have secondary infection.  It was raining here from yesterday and visibility was poor.  It took me forty five minutes to get a parking place in the hospital and I was half an hour late for the appointment.  Luckily all the appointments were running late and I was able to see my doctor who assured me that there was no secondary infection and rest is the only thing I need to get well.

So here I am hoping that I can start where I left off at the end of November, 2017 and 2018 will be rewarding experience of blogging.

Wishing a belated happy, prosperous and wonderful New Year 2018 to all my readers.

WordPress:Week Fifty One of My Fifty Two Weeks Journey with the Letter ” W”

It’s wrapup time. One more week to go and I am done with my yearlong journey.  But before I wrap up, I must say my thanks to WordPress.

WordPress opened a window through which I peered into a world that was hidden from me before.  I had no idea about blogging, did not know anything about posting a blog.  Wordpress gave me a platform to express my feelings. It allowed me to explore a medium that was dormant in my heart for a long, long time.  I made many friends across the seven seas, friends unseen or unheard but very near and dear to me.  Their words of encouragement have kept me going on my year long journey with the letter W.  Looking back over fifty one weeks, I think I must have been a fool to take my first step in this journey.  But there was WordPress at every step of the journey providing me with the much needed confidence to carry on.  Varieties of stories, poems, articles, the plethora of knowledge, each contributed something to this journey.

So here I am today, on the penultimate week of my journey, looking for a word that starts with W for my poem.  Where can I find a better word than WordPress for week fifty one of my fifty two weeks journey with the letter W to start my poem.  Hope my dear readers will agree with me.

Anniversary coming up

Anniversaries can come in many different forms.

My anniversary is coming up. No, no, not that one. That one is private. This one is the one month anniversary of starting my blog. One month anniversary? Anniversary is supposed to be a yearly event. In today’s world of instant gratification, waiting one year to celebrate an anniversary is too long. By that time attention may drift to something else. Anniversary means need to celebrate some accomplishment. What are the accomplishments of last one month (it’s not yet, two more days to go, but that is another story)? Well, started my blog, joined Blogging University Class 101, completed eight assignments, learnt a lot about blogging and still learning, posted fort five blogs. Whew! But best of all, made so many new friends in the parallel universe of the internet and the way they had opened their hearts to complete strangers by sharing their writing, it’s amazing.
