Friday Haiku: Dreaming of Heaven

Dreaming  of heaven

All nonbelievers to hell

Faithful cries out loud

*****

Only one I see

A heaven on earth for all

Heaven is sterile

*****

The light shines on me

You  have colors of the rainbow

Why need monochrome

***

Light everywhere

One and same for all creatures

The fools disagree

*****

An wink and a smile

Embrace the diversity

Heaven, dream no more

Divergent Thoughts: Set of Haikus

In the name of God
Millions tortured, maimed and killed
Still preach the gospel

The prophet of peace
Followers kill in his name
Mute spectators all

Tower of Babel
Merciful God’s punishment
Cursed diversity

Children of the book
Monotheistic all but
Which one is greatest

We want lasting peace
But peace on our own terms though
While the world suffers

Lie, cheat, commit sin
As long you serve our purpose
Get a mulligan

We worship same god
Speak different languages
Different, we fight

We speak same language
But worship different god
Different, we fight

Worship same, speak same
Different color of skin
Different, we fight

What is different
Language, color, religion
Same blood flows in vein

World

World we live in
Only one that we know
Routinely we do think
Lonely are we in the universe
Do we have others like us anywhere

While we may believe
Out there may be others
Right at this moment
Looking at us from light years away
Do not have any hard evidence

Why then do we bother
Onus is on us humans
Really to make this world
Livable for all the species
Diversity be embraced, celebrate life

We are the caretakers
Of the only place we call home
Rulers never, though some may dream
Learning not to respect nature
Destruction beckons to us all

World belongs to every one
Our solemn duty is to preserve and nurture
Ruining this world by our activities, making
Living hell of our only home
Does that do any good to any one

Warriors of the Night

Bloggers battle to reach out and win hearts through their creations.

Warriors of the Night

Sun has gone down,
Dark shadows move across the sky,
The bugle calls.

Warriors of the night
Out in droves,
Alone in their foxholes,
Manning their battle stations,
Fingers flying across their weapons.

It’s not a fight to the death,
Nor to kill and conquer, but
To create,
To reach out,
To win hearts.

No boundaries,
Across continents,
Over land and water
They fly.
Differences excite exploration,
Diversity unites.

Fingers  tapping their keyboards,
Or gliding blithely across the screen,
Warriors of the night
Fighting their heroic battles.

Reaching out to unknown friends,
Bringing the world closer
One word at a time.

And as the shadows of night slowly recede,
Bugle plays Reveille,
Warriors of the night arise,
Battle weary but content
For a night’s job well done.
