Lonely: Carpe Diem Haiku

In response to Carpe Diem Haiku  Crossroads#1

Lonely by seaside
Cold tears of separation
Deathly calm engulfs

*******

Far out in the sea
Tears merged on the horizon
Seagulls fall silent

Goal of Carpe Diem Crossroads Haiku as explained in Carpe Diem Crossroads Introduction is “Imagine you are on a crossroad were two haiku come together. The haiku “have a conversation” and “decide” to become one. Together the create a symbiosis of a new haiku.”

Silent Tears Flow

Old expatriate

Far away from home,  alone

Every morning,  fear

Separation wide

Technology builds bridges

News flow instantly

Every dawn new fear

Instant message, news of loss

Dead,  lost someone dear

Mind flies away fast

Limp body outwardly calm, lies

Heart weeps silently

Memories disturb

Silent tears flow unseen

Loneliness company

Wise

Wise are those not distressed by defeat
In failure stepping stones for success built
Spring will definitely follow winter
End is never till one quits

Wise ones will not digress
Instant gratification is not their goal
Sure and steady will they move
Ensuring final victory theirs to behold

Wise men keep their own counsel
Insulting others not their creed
Silent when required, secretive not
Engaged they are, withdrawn not

Wise and worldly
Ingenuous and informative
Serene and strong
Endears the wise to one and all

Write Anything Wednesday

Search for the Ghost of Antonin

A few more days
To tolerate the stink emanating
From Goebbels’ progenies
All the righteous hot air
Pervading the air waves
Will hopefully fall silent
Whether the grey old people
Doing their politically correct dance
Gingerly sidestepping the real reason
For throwing their support
Behind the self aggrandizing trumpeter
Blowing hot and cold
The key to the holy grail
Is the prize for which
They will sell their souls
Even to the one they say they despise
Vacant SCOTUS seat must be filled
But only by one of their own
Constitution and democratic principles be damned
The litmus test must be passed
The womb tightly controlled
The rotting bones of the
Black robed regal pompous
Erudite constitutional scholar jurist
Must be rising from his grave
Gleefully casting his ghostly shadows
On the ninth vacant seat
A few more days, handful of hours
Will sanity prevail when
People have their say, and
Search for the ghost of Antonin
Hopefully will come to an end

Dawn: Poetry Challenge #44: Ghazal

This post is in response to Poetry Challenge sponsored by Jane Dougherty.  This is my first attempt for this poetry form.  I also decided to translate my first attempt of this poetry form to my mother tongue, Assamese, a major Indian language spoken by the people from the northeastern Indian state of Assam.

Opened my eyes to dawn’s beautiful streaming light
Memories of the first dawn with you breaks my heart

So many things we said on that morning long forgotten
Words that remained unspoken, today breaks my heart

Many miles we walked that day at the crack of dawn
The steps we did not take together, breaks my heart

So much we planned on that beautiful dawn
What we forgot to plan, today breaks my heart

Laughter and songs filled our life that blissful dawn
Dawn today is silent without you, it breaks my heart

Price of Silence

Meeks shall inherit the world
But the world will extract
Sweet vengeance
Leaving the meeks to ruminate
What could have been
As they are left to
Dance a macabre dance of death
On the tombs of millions
Littering a scorched earth
Sent to their untimely deaths
By  deadly silence of the meeks
That could be heard
Across the world
Silent approval of
The misdeeds of a few
Till the end of eternity
Meeks will have time to rue
The price of silence
Will weigh heavily
Nobody else to blame
But we
