End of Summer

There is a party going on

Just few houses down

Sound of merriment and laughter

I can hear from where I am

I was to be a part of it

To bid adieu to summer

And invite fall

I am happy to hear

People are having fun

Should have been happy to be

Part of the group

Somewhere down there

Like the muggy weather

Something is sitting heavy

On my heart

Season changes, we do too

Somewhere happiness abound

Somewhere sorrow overflows

Party will end soon

And people will go home

Those who have lost all

Will they ever go home

Clowning makes the world laugh with a smile as wide as can be

Burdens of the Past

I carry the burdens of the past

All these years a deep sorrow

Clouded my heart

As the years rolled by

Every year one step nearer to the grave

I can neither take sorrows with me

Nor can I leave behind to share

What good are these sorrows then

These burdens of the past

Will no longer weigh me down

No longer I will be crying alone

Words will not bleed anymore

A heart lightened, weight lifted

Look forward happily to the day

When the call will come

To travel to the land unknown
