Veil

Have you ever tried to lift the veil
Beneath the laughter there is aching pain
A true friend is one who sees through
I know you have pain of your own
That you never shared
I scratch the mask you wear
But I tread gingerly
Lest won’t be able to bear the pain
The scars that you carry
Lie safely hidden
My heart aches
As we tango
Circling
Life goes on
Abnormally normal
Entwined
Lovers
Lost in our
Own lies

Flirtatious Rain Clouds

Celestial nymph
Seduces to deceive
Rain clouds dance
Beguiling, dark
Caressing gently
Thirsty suitor
Enchanted, eager
Perched throat
Ready to be soothed
Fleeting embrace leave
Desires unfulfilled
Master in the sky
Lifting ever so gently
Hem of the veil
Quietly admonishes
Seductress to bid her time
Suitor kept waiting
Winks flirtatious rain clouds
Till we meet again
Few drops of nectar
All that is there
Quench your thirst
And on a breeze
She vanishes
Thirsty earth
Looks up to the sky
Destitute, desolate

Defective Medium Called Religion

We hide our mistakes
And sometimes do hide
From our mistakes
But it seems to me
From own creation
Creator has hidden
Creation that is
Supposed to be based
On own beautiful image
Flawed and corrupted
May be the mirror
Was shattered
During the big bang
Creating multiple broken
Shattered images
Afraid to face
A failed creation
Creator hidden permanently
Behind a veil
Of dubious middlemen
And a defective medium
Called religion

A Walk In The Clouds

Writing Prompt for Free Flow Fridays

What mysteries lie
Beyond those clouds
Will they make
Me free to fly
Or
Cover me in doubts
What are you hiding
O’ mysterious cloud

I am in no haste
To lift the shroud
I can wait
Walk on the beach
By the bay
Looking up at you
As you glide by
Contemplate the shapes
Divine the mysteries
But I am afraid
Sun will lift your veil
And ruin my day
