Hiding the deep emotions lurking in the heart
A welcoming smile, a gesture most polite
Betrayal, anger, cruelty, intent all hidden
Those pure of heart unable to decipher
Fooled by the devilishly insidious smile
Seeking comfort in the compassionate hug
Innocently baring themselves to
A mask named Face
Expertly hiding the villain inside
Taken aback by surprise
The sudden pain of
A stab in the back
Nobody else to be blamed for
Letting their guards down
As wounded eyes look on
Mask falls off, revealing
Face with a villainous grin
I was one of those in the past…”those pure of heart unable to decipher.” Wonderful poetry, Prana. 🙂

Thanks. Yes, it happens but I will like to remain a pure heart.

That’s not what I meant. I am still pure of heart, but wiser.

How true of so many people. The real truth is that we all have certain layers we use to protect ourselves.
Thank you for stepping into the party yesterday, but I realized my mistake and that was having two links open and some people were partying in the short one *which I’ve closed now* Please if you follow my last party post, you can add your blog url there. My regards and sorry for making you party hard 😉
