Dawn’s silence shattered
Through the closed window
Floated sweet chirping of birds
Sweet solitude
Suddenly pierced by a
Shrill, pained shriek
Opened the window
To a sweet and sad scene
First flight of the sparrow fledglings
Exploring the world for the first time
Getting ready to fly the coop
On the yard
Cat with a dead sparrow
Silently closed the window
Life in motion
Happenings of daily life
Do not affect me any more
Haerbreaking cry of a lonely bird
Does not bring tears to my eyes
In here, in this empty nest
Silence has reigned for long
Morning slumber is not disturbed
By sweet nothingness of children’s voice
Long ago flew the nest
Busy writing chapters of their life
Keep on moving, keep moving forward
Memories deep down
It’s now time to prepare
Meet and merge
In the great unknown
