Fellow travelers we
Shared path
Covered in silence
Lest words spoken
Send us hurtling
On our separate paths
Peace in solitude
Silence is heavy
Heart weighted down
By the burden
Of silence
Of words unspoken
Painful loneliness
We tread carefully
Peace preserved
Pay the price
Living a lie

Poetry is my passion. I am not a methodical writer. I have no set topics to write about. What I feel, perceive, think about, I will like to share in this blog. I open my mind to the world. Like the weather, sometimes my poems are cloudy, sometimes stormy. I always like to see sunshine streaming through the leaves of trees, so I hope I can share some of those sunshine with my readers.

PB, it is as if you were reading my mind today. I was working on a piece earlier about telling one’s truths… silence (or lies) do indeed exact a steep price, often far greater than that we would have suffered by speaking up. You end up in the same place, the truth just gets you there faster. 🙂

I can’t agree more. Truth sets us free but we constrain ourselves out of fear ( of losing).

Peace or conflict? Depends upon the importance of the battle. My thoughts generally are not important enough to cause war withing or without.

Thanks Oneta.
Once we compromise, we pay the price one way or another. If we don’t, we still pay. As you said, it depends.
