How do you not say no to your destiny
And not find your own path,if any
Mark your own place in this world
To have your say you must be bold
Follow your destiny and bid your time
Soon you be old and time to say good by
So roll up your sleeves and put shoulders to the wheel
It won’t be easy but satisfaction you will feel
A path not marked by destiny for you to follow
Dangers will be plenty but life will not be hollow
You may fail or you may soar
But go ahead and explore without fear
You are the man to make your own destiny
You will mark your own time and place, no doubt, not any
So go ahead and say no to your destiny
Words to live by. I guess we all have had moments where this advice would have resulted in significant changes to our lives.

I wish I would have got this advice when I was twelve.

Not writing much in last few days as emotionally very upset regarding the CAB (CAA) issue in Assam / India.

Disturbing to say the least.
CAB will ensure that Assamese becomes a minority in Assam like original Tripuris in Tripura.
That’s why I encourage you to be proficient in Assamese.
In Dr. Bhupen Hazarika’s words, ” মোৰ আইক ভাল পাওঁ বুলিলে জানো আনৰ আইক ঘিণ কৰাটো বুজাব।”

So sad about the situtation in India too, Pranab. I guess people need to always fight for our civil rights, culture and minorised languages everywhere in the world. As a Catalan person I understand this very well because I speak a minorised language. I love the content and form of your poem. The rhymes are very well done.

Thanks Marta.
Very disturbed for the last month or so due to the prevailing situation back home in my home state of Assam. Assamese people are gradually becoming a minority in our own home state due to continuous migration from neighboring country and politicians just playing to their vote banks.

You are welcome. Yes, it is sad. Our world needs to protect minorities. As a Catalan I can assure you I totally empathise with this unfair situation. My thoughts are with you.
